美国肿瘤专科医生:田刚 博士



田刚 医学博士, 理学博士。美籍华人,生于北京。1982年考入中国协和医科大学。期间,82-85年在北京大学攻读中国协和医科大学医预班;88年公费付美国留学,90年被授予Rutgers University (New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA)生物化学硕士。1997年,毕业于Brandeis University (Waltham, Massachusetts, USA), 被授予分子生物学博士。1997-2000年,在美国The Sr. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, Queens, New York, USA完成内科实习医生和住院医师训练。2000-2003年, 在 University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland, USA,完成血液学和肿瘤学专科训练。在Science、Molecular and Cellular Biology(IF:6.773)和Journal of Biological Chemistry(IF:5.808)等著名杂志上发表学术研究论文数篇。擅长肿瘤内科治疗、免疫治疗以及分子靶向治疗。目前,在美国The West Clinic(100 N Humphreys Blvd,Memphis, TN 38120, USA)从事肿瘤临床与科研工作。美国肿瘤学会、美国血液学会、美国医师学会和美国内科学院会员。

G. Gary Tian, MD, PhD

The West Clinic is pleased to welcome Gary Tian, MD, PhD. Board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Tian specializes in Oncology/Hematology and is licensed to practice in Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas.

Dr. Tian began his higher education at Peking University, Peking P.R. China where he received his B.S. in Pre-Med Sciences. Dr. Tian left China to come to the US in order to pursue his interests in the sciences. He studied gene regulation in carcinogenesis and earned his Masters Degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Tian continued his research at Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts and was awarded Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology. His research included gene regulation in immunoglobulin and T cell activation, which have been shown to be critical in pathogenesis in leukemias, lymphomas and multiple myeloma.

Dr. Tian’s research was well published in peer reviewed journals; and although Dr. Tian had become an accomplished scientist, he decided to return to Peking Union Medical College in 1996 in order to complete his studies in clinical medicine and obtain his medical degree.

After earning his MD, Dr. Tian returned to the states where he completed his internship and residency in Internal medicine at The St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers in Queens, New York. His oncology/hematology fellowship was completed at University of Maryland, Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Tian has been in practice in the Memphis area since 2003. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Tian specializes in Oncology/Hematology with particular interests in colorectal and breast cancer. He sees patients at The West Clinic’s Humphreys and Covington offices.

Dr. Tian believes in teaching patients about their illness in order to help them better understand the disease process and treatment options. His scientific background lends to the philosophy of bringing cancer care “from bench to bedside.”

Outside his practice, Dr. Tian enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and playing various sports. He has been an avid soccer player since college. He also enjoys playing golf, roller-skating, and badminton.
